From my inspirations: London
By Inês Vaz Pinto
London is a city I always return to with pleasure - and one that never disappoints. Even on short visits, I always find ways to feel inspired: whether discovering a new restaurant, stepping into a different shop, or visiting an exhibition.
On my latest trip, I stayed in Marylebone, an area I particularly enjoy. It has a quieter, more elegant, yet very lively scale, with great restaurants, beautiful shops, and everything within comfortable walking distance.
This time, a few places stood out:
Bookshop: Daunt Books, Marylebone
One of the most beautiful bookshops in London. Specialised in travel books and organised by country, Daunt Books is an absolutely inspiring space - with wooden galleries and plenty of natural light. Perfect for lingering.
Museum: The Wallace Collection
One of those places that feels like a well-kept secret. Set in an elegant townhouse, it brings together an extraordinary collection of art, furniture and decorative arts. A calm and very special atmosphere.
Restaurant: Lina Stores, Marylebone
One of my favourite stops on this trip. A modern Italian classic with a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. The food is delicious, simple and well executed - exactly how I like it.
Shop: Anya’s Village, Pont Street
I also visited Anya Hindmarch’s “village”. It’s impossible not to leave inspired: each shop has its own concept and everything is designed down to the smallest detail. I brought back the book If In Doubt, Wash Your Hair, which I recommend to anyone interested in creativity and entrepreneurship.
Exhibition: Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art
I didn’t manage to visit this exhibition, which I was very disappointed about. It is a fascinating celebration of Elsa Schiaparelli’s universe and her vision between fashion and art. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting London - I believe it is definitely worth seeing.
Café / lunch: Daylesford Organic, Notting Hill
For a lighter break, I really like Daylesford Organic. Simple, organic and delicious food, in a beautiful and carefully designed space - ideal for a late breakfast or a relaxed lunch.
At Torres Novas, we believe inspiration is everywhere - in cities, in details, in experiences. And London continues to be, for me, an endless source of it.
