Our May suggestions

May brings more sunshine, flowers, and a renewed desire to celebrate life. This month, our Creative Director, Inês Vaz-Pinto, has gathered perfect suggestions for enjoying the good weather. Shall we?
Joy at the Table
For me, any excuse is a good one to celebrate! The Mafra linen napkins, featuring openwork stitching, are ideal for those who love a beautifully set table, and the new floral embroidery turns any meal into a special occasion. They’re great for a spring lunch in the garden or a more elegant dinner – the perfect touch to turn everyday moments into a celebration.
A New Art Spot in Lisbon
The Armando Martins Museum of Contemporary Art (MACAM) has opened – a new art space in Lisbon. Housed in an 18th-century palace in Alcântara, the museum features one of the most remarkable private collections of modern and contemporary art in Portugal, with works by Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso, Vieira da Silva, and Pedro Cabrita Reis. More than just a museum, it also includes a hotel, garden, and an old chapel dedicated to performing arts. It's perfect for a cultural afternoon with the family.
A Quick, Simple, and Delicious Recipe
For those with busy lives (most of us, right?), there’s nothing better than a light, nutritious, and above all, easy recipe. The combination of crispy kale, roasted sweet potato, and chickpeas is simple, delicious, and colourful. I finish it off with a drizzle of olive oil, lemon, toasted seeds, and for a stronger flavour, a few shavings of parmesan. Practical and tasty – great to take to work or enjoy in the sunshine.
My Torres Novas Beach Towel
Inspired by 1940s towels and the Gibalta lighthouse, this Torres Novas beach towel is the pure retro charm. With vertical stripes and a terracotta hue, it’s made from 100% cotton, with one side velvety soft for extra comfort. Perfect for the first days at the beach or an afternoon in the park – at least until we launch this year’s new collections!
A Book to Build Habits
I’ve finally started reading The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. This best-seller explores how habits shape our personal and professional lives – and how we can reprogramme them. Duhigg shows how small changes can have a deep and lasting impact. Let’s see how it goes!
A Family Trip to the Cinema
I love going to the cinema, especially with my son – always with popcorn, of course. Just in time for Easter, we went to see King of Kings, a film about the life of Jesus through the eyes of a child. It’s a story of faith, hope, and seeing the world with pure eyes – a perfect choice for a quieter day, and a chance to reflect on what truly moves us.
May is the perfect month to slow down and savour what surrounds us!
