There are places that invite us to slow down. Comporta is one of them. Between the scent of pine trees, golden dunes and a peaceful pace of life, it only takes one day to understand why this destination continues to captivate so many people.

For me, the day begins early, at 8:30 a.m., with a freshly baked croissant at Simone French Bakery. I love sitting there without rushing, watching life unfold around me.

Shortly after 10:00 a.m., I head to Casa da Cultura to visit the Torres Novas store. It's impossible to resist these textiles, which are such an important part of Portuguese heritage, reimagined with a contemporary touch - especially the beach towels and beach chairs at this time of year. It's a must-visit!

By 11:00 a.m., there's only one destination: the beach. Fine sand, crystal-clear water and miles of virtually untouched coastline. Time passes between swims, walks along the shore and precious moments with family.

When the clock strikes 1:30 p.m., I make my way to Almo. Lunch naturally lingers, as it always does when the food is delicious and the conversation flows effortlessly. Local ingredients, simple yet beautifully executed flavours and a relaxed atmosphere make this one of those places where you always want to stay a little longer.

The afternoon continues at the village's gentle pace. At 5:00 p.m., an ice cream in hand becomes the perfect excuse to wander through the peaceful streets. Independent boutiques, home décor shops, fashion and artisan stores reveal little treasures, and I can't resist taking a few souvenirs home with me.

As the sun begins to set, it's almost time for dinner. At 8:00 p.m., Cavalariça welcomes me with its sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. The setting is elegant without being overdone, the cuisine celebrates local produce, and every dish feels like a tribute to the flavours of the Alentejo coast, presented with creativity and balance. It's a dinner to savour slowly, paired with a fine wine and the warm glow of the evening light.

A day in Comporta deserves one final chapter. At 10:30 p.m., I end the night at Jacaré. A great cocktail, good music, a laid-back atmosphere and the feeling that no one is in a hurry to leave.

It's the perfect ending to a day lived at Comporta's own unhurried rhythm.
